Outlook 2010 client disconnecting from Exchange 2010
Outlook is unable to book public folder calendar appointments
Exchange 2010 sp2 rollup 1 environment:
1. We have several public folder calendars that could be booked via permissions granted by mail universal security groups. This is now failing. Outlook indicates a lack of permission.
2. OWA of course works fine as per normal; outlook fails as per normal.
3. Creating a new test public folder calendar and applying the existing groups works fine; able to book with outlook.
4. Creating a new test mail universal security group and applying to the existing calendars works fine; able to book.
5. upgrading the existing groups to 2010 level via set-distribution group; no benefit.
Calendar synch issues with Outlook 2010 and Exchange 2003
We're running Exchange 2003. We upgraded from WinXP & Outlook 2003 to Win7 and Outlook 2010.
After the upgrade, we began having very slow synchronizations with delegated calendars. Changes either party made to the calendar would often take a very long time to synch, and sometimes some things seemed to not synch at all.
As a band-aid, we put manual synch groups in each person's Outlook to force a synch every 5 or 10 minutes. But this hasn't worked 100%.
Are there known synch issues between Outlook 2010 and Exchange 2003?
Thanks
OWA time zone issue - Exchange 2007
Hi,
My exchange setup as mentioned below.
India - Site A Internet facing site - 2 CAS NLB - URL owa.domain.com & MBX server - SCC
Russia - Site B - Non internet facing site - Exchange 2007 C/H/M roles standalone server.
Problem-
User's mailbox on Russia server when they access OWA for the first time their time zone are not properly displayed.
It shows “(UTC+03:00) Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd” instead “(UTC+04:00) Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd”
We have check on the Russia domain controller the time zone is properly displayed as “(UTC+04:00) Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd” but at our India Exchange CAS & DC servers doesn't have the proper “(UTC+04:00).
I have gone through the below link http://blogs.technet.com/b/dst2007/archive/2012/03/22/armenia-cancels-dst.aspx?wa=wsignin1.0 and observe a manual scripts need to be installed on the server.
Can you please help me with the steps and where to install the patch exactly.
I mean the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2570791 has to be installed on domain controller and exchange CAS server which have common OS windows 2003 with SP2....?
Thanks in advance.
Meeting Reminder Disappears on Update
Hi,
When I set up a meeting in Outlook, the reminder is set to five minutes by default. I send out the meeting request, people respond, and all is good.
BUT -- if I re-schedule the meeting or try to send out an update with new information, the reminder switches to "None", and my update gets sent out without a reminder (since I don't always remember to double-check it...).
This also happens to some of my co-workers. I've hunted around online but I can't find a solution.
My problem is pretty much the same as what's described here, but no solution is posted: https://groups.google.com/
I'm using Outlook 2007 (SP2) on Windows XP Professional, with an Exchange account.
Any suggestions...?
Thanks!
Schedule a room resource without adding myself
Hi!
We have several users that want to book room resources but they don't want the bookings to show in their own calendar when scheduling. For exemple:
In a school environment they want to schedule certain classrooms for a whole semester but not for themselves but for others such as incoming teachers etc. that don't exist in AD. Is this possble? Can they stay as organizers but not attendees? They want their own calendars to be clean...
Environment: Exchange 2007 with Office 2010
Thanks in advance!
Outlook 2007 deletes random emails...but certain ones at the same time.
I have a group of four computers that have access to the same email. For some reason, emails are randomly being deleted...but certain ones at the same time (especially when they have not been read).
I have removed the .OST file into a temp file, and created a new one. That didn't work.
There are no rules set up anywhere that I could find.
I even asked the dumb question if any of them are deleting the emails...but they say no.
Ideas...thoughts...solutions???
"Your mailbox has been temporarily moved on Microsoft Exchange Server"
In Outlook, the Inbox folder does not show up under Mailbox - User Name. Starting with "Outlook Today" and clicking on the "inbox" like he can get to his messages.
In OWA the envelope icon shows up but instead of saying "Inbox" it had a URL like "http://video.google.com&search="...
I used exmerge to extract the data for the user, deleted the mailbox, then used exmerge to import it back.
"Inbox" now shows up in OWA but when Outlook is launched it gives this message:
"Your mailbox has been temporarily moved on Microsoft Exchange Server. A temporary mailbox exists, but might not have all of your data. You can connect to the temporary mailbox or work offline with all of your old data. If you choose to work with your old data, you cannot send or receive e-mail messages."
Did I miss a step somewhere?
outlook 2007/2003 clients cannot open calendars
Hi,
Our setup is Exchange 2007 with servicepack 3 and rollup 3. Before servicepack 3 and rollup 2 all users (tested with outlook 2007 and outlook 2010) could open eachother calendars and see free/busy time data. After deploying the servicepack and rollup 2 only users with outlook 2010 can do that, others receive error that they dont have the appropriate permissions. We deployd rollup 3 also, with no help on this matter.
Permissions are the default - free/busy time only. If the "folder visible" option is selected, opening the calendar works.
Thank you,
Kriksik
users mails are not working after moving the user account to a new domain
i have a case that i moved some user account to a new domain - migration from exch 2003 to exch 2010 - their mail boxes are still in the old exchange because i don't have enough space in the new exchange storage yet, i created the connectors between the exchange servers and the trust relation between the domain and everything used to work fine
no it is not and the only thing that i believe had been changed is a complete restart to all of my servers
i don't know if this is the reason so please i need your help
this is the error i am getting on the old exchange
This is an SMTP protocol error log for virtual server ID 2, connection #8963. The remote host "new mail server FQDN", responded to the SMTP command "xexch50" with "504 5.7.1 Not authorized ". The full command sent was "XEXCH50 1020 2 ". This will probably cause the connection to fail.

Resource Mailbox confirmation messages not being sent ( Exchange 2010)_
Thanks again Folks, and please ask any questions in case I left something out.

Cannot display the folder. There is not enough free memory to run this program. Quit one or more programs, and then try again.
Since Outlook 2007 SP2, whenever I used Outlook for some time (5-10 minutes), I start getting the error
"Cannot expand the folder. There is not enough free memory to run this program. Quit one or more programs, and then try again."
When I quit Outlook and open it up again, I can then again work for 5 - 10 minutes before receiving the error again. The error appears whenever clicking or expanding a folder (public folder or mailbox folder) except for the Inbox, which is always working, but
for example clicking on "Sent Items" or "Outbox" produces the error, as well as any Public folder.
When the error occurs, mail in the Outbox also doesn't get sent until I restart Outlook. This problem occurs in Outlook 2007 and 2010. I was running Outlook 2007 on WinXP with all the latest service packs installed. Outlook 2007 was running in Exchange Cache
mode, in RPC mode (not RPCover HTTP), and I was connected to the office by VPN. I have disabled all add-ins, there is plenty of memory available (no other programs running and 2GB free memory available out of 4GB), I have tried fixing the .ost file (3.5GB)
with scanost.exe, I even tried creating a new .ost file, the same error occurs over and over again. OL 2007 was running fine for a long time (more than a year) with the same .ost file, same connection, same Outlook profile, even with some Add-ins enabled.
The errors started appearing only after installing Office SP2. I guess some Office update or service pack must have created the problem.
Now I'm using Office 2010 with a new Outlook profile, this time with a different Exchange Server (Exchange 2010), with Exchange Cached Mode, running with a server with RPC over HTTP, with a new OST, same problem. Even on another computer running Windows 7 creates
the same problem. I was told by an MVP there is a connection limit now introduced since OL 2007 SP2, where Outlook has this problem after making more than 11750 requests. The connection dialog (right-click on OL icon in status bar) proves this: once the limit
is reached, OL starts to behave like this.
Error messages on OL2010 are as follows:
- Task 'Microsoft Exchange' reported error (0x8007000E) : 'Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again.
- Cannot display the folder. There is not enough free memory to run this program. Quit one or more programs, and then try again.
- Cannot expand the folder. There is not enough free memory to run this program. Quit one or more programs, and then try again.
- Cannot expand the folder. There is not enough memory available to perform the operation.
When is Microsoft expected to ship a patch that will correct this problem? Restarting Outlook every 10 minutes is simply ridiculous. Working like that a disaster. The problem occurs when connections pass a certain amount. Since in Exchange Cache mode Public
Folders as well as Mailbox folders get synchronized, this limit is only reached in Cache mode because many connections are opened to synchronize the folders. I do need Cache mode, working in online mode is too slow. In addition to that, Desktop search is also
indexing the Public folders, which might add to the connections.
The Problem occurs on several computers, also on computers of my colleagues, with WinXP, Win7, with Outlook 2007 and 2010, with Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010, with RPC or RPC over HTTP.
We now have a hosted server with an Exchange hosting provider, and we do have the same problem there too, it is definitly related to Outlook, Outlook also reports errors in background synchronization when the problem occurs.
I was told by a MS MVP already in May last year that this problem i known by Microsoft. He had the same problem too and several customers reported it in the forums. He then told the product development team at MS, and they wanted to look into it, at the same
time confirmed that a connection limit was introduced in either OL2007 SP2 or 3, but apparently they never fixed that. Now with OL2010, the same problem persists.
Fixing the OST did not help, even with a complete new OST the problem occurs, disabling all ADD-INs didn't help either. All of this and looking at the number of connections proves that it has to do with this connection limit. Why this limit was introduced I
don't know.
I have to leave downloading Public Folders enabled for several reasons:
- to have a backup copy of Public Folders in case anytime our Exchange hosting provider goes bozo
- to be able to search them with Desktop Search
- for speed issues as we frequently use them
One of the big problems with this is also (apart from being very annoying to restart Outlook about 10 or more times each day) that I'm not sure if all of the Public folders really get synchronized. We have about 2000 Public Folders and checking each one would be a nightmare. Since the background synchronization fails every time because of the connection limit, I don't know if the next time it will start to synchronize the folders where it cut off the last time, or if it starts from scratch. Most probably the latter is true and some Public folders may never get synchronized.
What can I do? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Adrian
Addition Oct 10, 2010: Does Microsoft really not care about this bug??? I thought that many MS Support Professionals are reading these forums, and after all this time no reply at all from any of them??? Do I really have to pay a Support Incident to report a bug to Microsoft???

Outlook sync problems
Hi
Background - Our exchnage server went down and was unrepairable, luckily we were 70% through a hosted exchnage solution at the time so we fast tracked that to get back online again and made everyones old mailbox into a .pst file so they could gain access to there mail.
Problem – is with a particular outlook client on a mac running office 2011, when he opens his outlook client it tries to sync all 2000 calendar entries over and over again.
There are some sync errors in the log which refer to the e-mail id not being there, I think it is trying to synce calendar entries from when before the exchnage went down and it doesnt recognise the meeting organiser so will not sync them to our hosted exchnage.
We coud go through and manually reenter the information so that it picks the iinfo up from our new GAL but having to do that on over 2000 calendar entries is not a great use of time.
Im worried that if we remove the office software and reinstall it he will lose all of the rogue entries.
Is there anything we can do to either stop it from trying to sync all the entries at startup or change the meeting organisers?
Many Thanks
When I try to accept an Outlook meeting request it tells me I am the organizer, though I am not.
When I try to accept an Outlook meeting invite it tells me I am the organizer, though I am not, and I cannot accept the meeting invite. This seems to happen for
recurring meetings only. If I open the meeting via 'Open this occurrence' from the calendar, the organizer and attendees appear correctly. If I open the meeting via 'Open the series' from the calendar, I am listed as the organizer. We have multiple users
experiencing the same problem. None of the organizers or attendees have delegates. The only common thread seems to be that these are recurring meetings that have been moved to a different day and time. We have had the organizer remove the
users from the meeting but when the users try to delete the meeting from their calendars they get the same message "As the meeting organizer, you do not need to respond to the meeting.".
We have a mixture of Vista and 7 clients all using Exchange 2007. OWA and Outlook 2007 show same behavior.
Anyone know the fix?
Outlook 2010 not updating new emails- "Updating Inbox" always goes back to 3.99 GB with Exchange 2003
Office 2010- Outlook has been setup with email and is updating inbox in cached mode. When I first connect to Exchange it was updating inbox with 3.99 GB of email. I allowed the inbox to download all of the emails for 3-4 days. On that last day the inbox was stuck at updating inbox (1 B). I closed and re-opened outlook and the update status states updating Inbox (3.99 GB). Each time Outlook is closed and re-opened that’s what the status says. Emails are loaded and I’m able to read and reply, however new emails that are sent to the user are not showing up until Outlook is closed and then reopened.
The user still has their original workstations and Outlook is working fine with no issue, this problem only affects new Office 2010 deployments. The clients are Online with Exchange and no errors or information is appearing in Exchange system or transaction logs that I have been able to find.

ActiveSync or Office Issue?
We are currently using Exchange 2003, just upgraded clients from Office 2003 on XP to Windows 7 Pro with Office 2010 Pro Plus. We have only 4-5 users that are noticing this happening and they happend to all be members of the Executive team and the main user is the CEO.... EEK. The CEO's assistant sends her all the appointments she needs to be at. She views Email, Calendar from PC, iPad, Android phone. She (CEO) has been noticing as well as a few others that things that she accepts say on her PC as an appointment will be on her Android or iPad as well and then maybe a day or two later it is just GONE... no reason why just not there. This has happened on her PC as well where shell accept an appointment from phone and it wont appear on PC Cal. So hard to diagnose as well as I tried to turn off Cached Exchange mode for these users and it still happens. Its not consistent as to everytime she accepts something its every now and then and its not isolated to one device. I dont know if its an Activesync issue or a 2010 issue. I am almost to the point to revert them back to 2003 for now and wait to see if it happens then. But that would suck to do because they truly love 2010. Its just hard when the CEO wants an answer immediately for this issue and I cannot provide one. Please any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Hi,
I have an issue using owa 2007 in Ie9 (ver 9.0.8112.16421) on just one machine. Its a real annoyance and the only work around I have found is to go into light version.
When I type a character in To, CC or BBC fields it comes up with the following :-
