OWA 2013 - Sending SMS

0
0

Hi,

I am testing out exchange 2013 and I cannot send SMS text messages from OWA, is this supported or not?

Out SMS setup is working as it does in Exchange 2010 - so we can send SMS from Outlook 2010 ok, via Exchange 2013.

Latest skinny on saving customized calendar views?

0
0

I see a lot of sad-people threads here! People wanting to set their Outlook 2010 calendars to display certain calendars (like personal and shared or a personal calendar) and having the setting stick between application close/relaunches.

Is this still not possible?

I have a client who is experiencing a similar issue. She wants two calendars to remain selected between close/relaunch. Does not happen.

Exchange 2010 environment. User is using patched Outlook 2010. I am pretty sure this was working before in a custom Calendar Group called "Work Calendars." In there we had her personal calendar and her boss's calendar. Both were showing and that view retained between Outlook close and launch.

It stopped working.

I can't fix it. :-(

Anything I can do?

Cheers,
Mike Whalen

Instant Search doesn't work after profile rebuild

Hi all,

We recently rebuilt our user profiles and now Outlook's instant search doesn't work. We can see and access all our old e-mails in the inbox, but the search bar only returns results dated after the profile rebuild.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thank you,

2013 - Theme for password change dialog

0

Hi,

is there any reason why the design / theme changes when i activate "change password on first logon" for a mailbox and the user tries to logon to OWA ?

I mean, by default the user sees a window in the theming of OWA 2010 and not OWA 2013 (old yellow login box instead of new blue one). I've noticed that the copyright information in this old styled window is changed to 2012, so i'm guessing, that the files were touched/changed for Exchange 2013, but i don't understand the break in design.. seems a little off.

Kind regards,

Peter

Blank EAC after credential input

I am having an issue with my new installation of Exchange Server 2013 RTM. I have installed, there were no errors during setup, however, I am unable to access the Exchange Admin Center either locally on the machine or from another machine on the same subnet as the server after the credentials page. It asks for the credentials to login with, however when I enter the credentials I get a blank page that never goes anywhere. As I am brand new to the new EAC, I don't know where to look for what might be issue, I have configured the browsers on both the localhost and the client accessing it to accept the domain name as a trusted site, I am using IE 10 on Win8Pro for client and Win2012 is what the server is installed with so both are IE 10. I also tried by accessing via IP address on both as well to see if that might make a difference and it did not. Any advice on this?

folders in mailbox disappearing

0
0

hi all, this is rather odd and I cannot pin point where the issue is, e.g. outlook or exchange or both.

a number of users have folder in their mailbox that is accessible by other users in the company. for example user1 has a folder called shared in his mailbox, user B has read access to the shared folder.

User 1 drops emails into the shared folder and user B can then pick up the emails and do whatever is necessary with the email.

However . . . .  the problem is, for some reason the folders like above (for a number of users and folder) quite often disappear from so the user with read access to the folder cannot see the folder.

The only solution is to re apply full access mailbox permissions from EMC. The folder then re appears in the folder view for the affected users.

Is there anything I can do? I don't know what to check, what to google etc.

Thanks

MSExchange OWA Event 139 - HTTP 500 Error when accessing OWA

I'm having a strange issue when attempting to access OWA.  I receive a HTTP 500 error, however, this is what's logged in the Application log:

________________________________

Event 139, MSExchange OWA

There was an error setting up WacConfiguration. Wac will be disabled and we will fall back to stellent. The WacUrlHostName was invalid. Expected a valid Uri. Actual value was ''. Value read from 'OrganizationConfig'

This is an Exchange 2013 RTM install on Server 2012 with both Client Access and Mailbox roles.  I can access ECP just fine and I double checked to make sure the server was properly configured for external access.  Any thoughts?

Unable to send Calendar invites

0

We recently underwent a domain change

Since then I have a user who, when she tries to share her calendar in Outlook 2007, the To: field is greyed out.  If she tries to add users from the GAL or her contacts, it generates the "Calendar Sharing is not available with the following entries because of permission settings on your network"

When prompted she is able to email her calendar fine.  Autocomplete on her email also works fine

It must be a setting or something on the local machine because if she sets up outlook on another machine, everything works fine and she can successfully send invites to others.

She is running Outlook 2007 on XP SP3, domain environment with an Exchange server (2007 I believe)

On the "broken" machine I have:

    created a new mail profile

    created a new Windows Profile

    renamed her NK2 file

    Removed and reinstalled Outlook

    Removed and reinstalled Office

looked in MFCMapi.exe, but unable to find anything which might be causing this (although my knowledge of using this tool is almost nonexistant)

used NK2edit to look for any invalid emaill addresses

removed users who had permissions associated with the old domain and added those users from the new domain

all with no success

As I said it must be something broken on the local machine because setting up outlook on another machine works fine
Everything else on the "broken" machine, including all other functions of email and the calendar, appear to be working fine

Short of going through the hassle of reimaging her computer, does anybody have any other suggestions?

Newly created user cannot receive email from outside our domain.

We are currently running Exchange 2003 R2. All users up to this point have not had an issue with sending or receiving email. The users are using Outlook 2010 to manage email. Recently, when creating new users, there is an issue with them being able to receive email from outside our domain. They can send outside and they can send and receive mail inside. This has been an ongoing issue. I thought it might have something to do with the size of the mail store since that was one of the errors I found in the event log (mail store is 30GB and you are trying to use 34GB). I cleaned up the mail store, cleaned out temp files, cookies... and rebooted the Exchange server. Verified the mail store was down under the 30GB and had the users in question try again. They are still not able to receive outside email. I found the registry entry that I changed for the size of the mail store. Still nothing. I am out of ideas and running out of patience. I have found nothing that will help in the forums to date. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Set a maximum attendees that can accept a meeting request.

First, I'm pretty sure this can't be done, but it would be cool.

We run regular training sessions within the organization. We can only accept a maximum of 15 people in each session.

Is there a way I can just set a limit and then send out an Outlook meeting invitations for each session to everyone in the organization and fill the sessions of a first come, first served basis as people accept the meeting invitations.

We currently use Outlook 2010 on Exchange 2007 but Exchange is due for an upgrade soon.

Hi,

I have a user that gets the following error when opening a reoccurring entry, we have applied the following fix but the issue has reoccurred again.  Is there a limit to how high you can set the value, if so what are the implications?

1.Open regedit
2.Locate and then click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
3.On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.
4.Type MaxObjsPerMapiSession, and then press ENTER.
5.On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.  Name the new value "objMessage" and set it's value to something higher than 250 (this limit shouldn't impact performance unless you have a script of some type that retrieves large numbers of messages at once; I'd probably set it to 500 or 1000 for now).  Make sure you are setting the value in decimal.

6.Close Registry Editor".

Thanks

David

When multiple users are editing a shared calender appointment, only users on Outlook 2003 get prompted if it has been changed since opening

0

We have just upgraded a few users to Office 201 and have noticed the following.

Office 2003 scenario:

User a opens a calender appointment in shared calender 123

User b opens the same calender appointment in shared calender 123

User a makes a change, saves and closed

User b makes a change and when trying to close gets prompted that the appointment has changed since opening and would they liek to save a copy

Office 2010 scenario:

As above but when user b makes the change and saves no warning is given and the changes user a made are lost.

Have a missed a tick somewhere or is this by design in Outlook 2010?

Junk E-Mail function seems to be disabled in Outlook 2007.

We are a small company with 3 users and we are on an exchange server. All three users have Outlook 2007 installed on their machines. One user has a huge problem with spam. All three of us get junk emails but for 2 users, all the junk is captured by the junk folder. One user, however, had to purchase a separate anti-spam software and install it on her machine only because junk e-mail function seems to be disabled and everything goes to the inbox. We checked all possible settings and they are at the highest but the function just does not seem to be working. It just seems odd that we are all on the same server and 1 user is having issues. The only difference I can think of is the way our blackberries are connected to the server. The one user with a junk email problem is connected through blackberry manager software and the two users are connected directly to the exchange.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance to all of you for your help.
