Sharing WLM calendar with Outlook Web Access (Exchange Online)

0

Hi,

I'd like to know if it's possible to view a WLM calendar on OWA. At the office we use Exchange Online and Outlook Web Access for our mail and calendar solution. At home, my family uses a Windows Live calendar (outlook.com address) to manage our family's schedule. Is there any way that I can view the family calendar (WLM) on my work account (OWA)? Ideally, I'd like the option to toggle the family calendar on/off. I'd also like to keep the family calendar hidden from my colleagues when they view my work calendar.

Thanks

Outlook anywhere NTLM for internal users and basic for external users?

Hi,

Have some thoughts on Outlook Anywhere (and perhaps Autodiscover)

from my understanding the externalclientauthentication/internalclientauthentication values are provied to the client using autodiscover?

what determines the choise of auth? lets say a request comes in to contoso.local and that one is configured on the internalhostname property it would use the auth method of the internalclientauthenticationmethod value?

and if a request comes into contoso.com and that one is stamped on the externalhostname it would use the value on the externalclientauthentication method?

and if both internalhostname and externalhostname is set to the same value?

So if looking at our current Outlook Anywher settings on a CAS server

# Get-OutlookAnywhere CAS01\rpc* | fl

ExternalHostname: company.com

InternalHostname: company.com

ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod: Ntlm

InternalClientAuthenticationMethod: Ntlm

IISAuthenticationMethods: Ntlm

eventhough I can set IISAuthenticationj using PS to both NTLM and basic that is just for IIS right.

How should it be configured so that external users (having outlook installed at a home computer not AD joined) to be able to access the mailbox? Would we need IISAuthentication set to both basic and NTLM and let TMG/UAG handle the authentication on DMZ?

Similar posts sayng that both cannot be enabled? But is that for both internal/external users?

Exchange 2010 multi tennant Autodiscover Issue

I am using the IIS redirect option as my DNS server does not support SRV

http:// social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/6818.exchange-2010-multi-tenant-autodiscover-service.aspx?wa=wsignin1.0

All is setup correctly and everything states successful when testing Autodiscover yet I am still prompted when opening Outlook RPC over HTTPS with "The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site"

Results of Test E-mail AutoConfiguration test (use AutoDiscover)

Autodiscover to http:// & https:// domain1- failed (0x800C8203)

Autodiscover URL redirection to https:// domain2 (host domain)

Autodiscover to https:// domain2/Autodiscover/autodiscover.xml - Succeeded (0x00000000)

Does anyone have this working without this prompt?

Exchange connectivity issue (?)

I've got a user who intermittently looses access to free/busy data. She'll add another user to a meeting, and the free/busy info is filled with backslashes, indicating "No Information" is available. The user has Outlook 2010 and her mailbox is on Exchange 2010. The Exchange server and user are in the same domain.

She has a second issue, that I think is related. Occasionally (apparenlty randomly), a dialog box pops up, asking for Exchange credentials. If she enters her credentials and clicks OK, the box immediately pops-up again. If she clicks Canel, the box goes away for a while. After clicking the Cancel button, she can still send and receive e-mail.

She was plugged into the LAN, and also connected to the WLAN. I had her disable her wireless card, but that didn't help. I tested Exchange connectivity (from the Outlook tool) and it came back clean.

What are my next troubleshooting steps?

you do not have permission to access this mailbox. Pls contact technical support

Migrated to Personal Archive, Still Getting PST

Exchange 2010 SP2, Outlook 2010 SP1

I have a user that has been set up with a Personal Archive and all items have been migrated from his Archive.pst to the Personal Archive. In Outlook, all ability to manage AutoArchive (PST) is gone as expected and Retention Policies have been set. The legacy PST file has been removed.

The user contiues to have a PST created. I know the user had AutoArchive settings on his Calendar and Tasks and I know that the ability to set Retention Policies on those items is not available unless I install Exchange 2010 SP2 RU4.

The question is, why does the user continue to get a PST created? Is this due to the legacy AutoArchive settings? How do I go about fixing this if the AutoArchive settings are no longer available?

Hi,

We have a Remote Site over a VPN Connection, and the DC on site is being used a primary DC along with 2 others on the main Site.

How do i change this DC to be a secondary DC so it is only used for logons for people on that site.

At the moment i get issues where some peoples AD Logon is done using the DC on the remote site.

Thanks

When enabling 2nd nic IIS stops functioning correctly for owa and active sync

We need to add a 2nd nic to our Ex2003 server.

We added one but it causes OWA and ActiveSync on the IIS to stop functioning, which are bound only to the first nic in IIS.

We tried to add the 2nd nic with a differnet subnet but same thing happens, as soon as 2nd nic is enabled the OWA and active sync start to fail.

Have also tried to use the command httpcfg delete iplisten -i <var>x.x.x.x (2nd nic)</var>

but that does not help.

httpcfg query iplisten only shows the ip for the 1st correct nic yet OWA/active sync still fail.

Disable the 2nd nic and OWA/active sync funtion correctly.

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I've yet to find a definite answer on this question: what is the maximum mailbox size limit using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2010 ost files?

I've yet to find a definite answer on this question: what is the maximum mailbox size limit using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2010 ost files?

So the limit on our Exchange 2003 server is currently set to 2GB....but from what I've researched, Outlook 2010 ost can go upwards of 75GB. Can I simply go thru the configuration on the 2003 Exchange server, make the mailbox limit to say 10 GB and have happy Outlook 2010 ost users? Only a handful of users would like this, so I was going to set the higher limit specifically on those users only (that is, clearing the check box 'Use mailbox store defaults')....and keep the default on the Exchange 2003 mailbox limit to 2GB.

Thanks

Outlook 2010: Recovered deleted task unable to open in the Outlook client but opens in OWA

I apologize if this is the wrong forum as we are running Exchange 2010 and not 2013, but this link was suggested to me and I couldn't find a similar one for 2010.

Here is my dilemma:

I have a user at my company who recently had many tasks disappear from her account.  We found them when we went to Recover Deleted Items, and once they are recovered, she is unable to open them from within the Outlook client.  If she double-clicks on it, nothing happens.  No error message pops up, but no window opens.  I turned on the preview pane and when clicking on the recovered task, she receives the following message in the preview pane:

This item cannot be displayed in the reading pane.  Open the item to read its contents.

I had her login via Outlook's Web Access, and she can open it fine there, but it won't open within the client.

Any ideas or suggestions as to what could be the problem and how to open it in the Outlook client?

How do I know which emails will be send via Forced TLS

0

We have several companies that we have established forced TLS with via our Exchange 2010 server.  How do my users know if the email address is one that will be going via TLS?

For example, let's say we have abc123.com entered as someone we DO have forced TLS with.  xyz.com is NOT someone we have forced TLS setup with.    My user is going to send an email to bob@abc123.com and can't remember if emails to 123abc.com or xyz.com will go via TLS.

My thinking is that Outlook could show the email address in a color or place and icon in front of email addresses that will be sent via TLS.

  • bob@abc123.com  <-- Green (secure)
  • sue@123abc.com <--- Red (not secure)

Exchange OWA/Activesync conflicting with RD Gateway role

0

I've been bouncing my head over the following issue the last couple of days

I currently have the following set up:

I have a windows server 2012 with microsoft exchange 2013 CAS Role, RD Gateway, RD Web roles.

When I assign my domain certificate to the RD Gateway role it adds a new binding to the "Exchange Back End" website port *:443. This conflicts with the "Defauly Web Site" and stops the "Exchange Back End" website.

If I keep the 443 binding on the "Exchange Back End  website, OWA/Active sync dont work, but the RD Gateway is reachable externally.

When I remove the 443 binding from the "Exchange Back End" website, OWA/Active sync works again but the gateway isnt reachable externally.

Does anybody know a solution to this problem, so that both my Exchange servers is reachable and my RD Gateway functions properly?

Cheers,

Danny

OWA reverts to light

We just installed a fresh version of Exchange 2013 on Server 2012. When our users try logging into OWA on a Windows OS (IE/Chrome) it uses the "Premium" version but on a Android 4.2 (Nexus 7) and Google Chromebook it reverts to "Light" once the users is logged in. But on either if we manually force the "/?layout=twide" flag for example it displays fine.

Outlook 2010 and prompting for smart card

0

When the clients try to connect to Exchange via Outlook on the local network, they get an error about a smart card? This started happening after applying the latest service pack.
KB2553248
They uninstalled this Outlook 2010 update and that fixed it?
They installed a service pack and the problem came back.
They can close the error and then access their email.
User says they already are set to require SSL in IIS and ignore client certificates.
They are Win7 clients with Office 2010, with one Vista system.
User is not sure if the Vista box is 64-bit or not.
User says this is the only Exchange server and it has never been migrated.
User says Out Of Office works fine.

Apparently there is no fix for this?
Talk to Wayne Ricketts, per http://blog.minkatec.com/?p=489.
Indeed the internal URL is an external address, but it does resolve correctly.
Send ownership email with that link.
Change it to an internal address

Any ideas on what may be causing this.

Thank you in advance,

nanben

Old appointments reapear after moving mailbox

0
0

I have moved a number of our offices mailbox from one Exchange 2003 to another Exchange 2003. The two servers at on the same domain and are "working together"(at the moment, the best solution was to move all mailboxes from the old sick Exchange server to the new exchange server, at another time we probably update to a newer version)

The problem is at every user have a number of old appointments reappear as missed appointments. The number varies from user to user.

I also have some problems with appointments appearing after they are deleted. The user creates an appointment with a reminder, after some time (even short amount of time) the user deletes the appointment, because it’s no longer relevant. At the time when the deleted appointment should remind the user, the reminder pops up, thought the calendar doesn’t have the appointment any longer. I’m not sure if the problem is related to the moving of mailboxes, but I think it started after I began the migration.

Any insides will be appreciated :)
