Outlook 2010: Entire messages are disapearing before sending or replying.

$

When replying to or forwarding (entering text) an email message, everything the user types disapears before the message can be sent along with the original message. We are running Win7 x64 Enterprise with office 2010 on exchange.

I enabled the "Microsoft Conferencing add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook" and the problem stopped for awhile. I have tried running outlook in safemode and the problem does not occur. I have rebuilt her profile and things seem to be doing better. Does anyone think the profile was just corrupt or what? This is happening on one other computer and I will try to rebuild her profile too unless this sounds familuar to anyone else and they have a different approach. Rebuilding profiles is a pain for us because some users have SEVERAL PKI certs. Will let you know if I have more problems with this issue.

I only get this while trying to send from the local host server. It runs just fine in the development server. I don't understand why it works with one and not the other. Is this a permission issue?

Outlook 2010 crashing on startup with no errors

$

I have Outlook 32bit on Windows XP connected to our corporate Exchange server, always worked well until a few days ago when it exhibited the following behaviour:

- When launching, the splash screen shows for a few seconds

- At the "Loading Profile..." step displayed in the splash screen, Outlook exists; no error is displayed

- No errors are reported in the event logs

- When launching Outlook again, I'm prompted to start it in Safe Mode as "Outlook did not start correctly last time"

- Safe Mode works fine, all emails and PST folders are loaded without any issue and exchange connection also works

- Disabling all COM add-ins from Safe Mode and restarting does nothing, Outlook still crashes with no error at the same point during startup

Any idea what could be causing this?

Recurring sync messages Exchange offline address book 0x8004010F

$

On a Windows 2003 R2 LAN and a Windows XP workstation with Outlook 2007:

The user is receiving messages from a remote post office via POP email

is also connected to a 2003 exchange server on the LAN

About every minute the following message is posted in the Outlook sync issues folder which fills up to the annoyance of the user:

 8:04:43 Synchronizer Version 12.0.6665
8:04:43 Synchronizing Mailbox '[user name]'
8:04:43 Synchronizing Hierarchy
8:04:43     1 folder(s) updated in online store
8:04:43 Synchronizing server changes in folder 'Inbox'
8:04:43 Downloading from server '[server name]'
8:04:43 Done
8:04:44 Microsoft Exchange offline address book
8:04:44  0X8004010F

The only seemingly relevant events posted in the workstation event log occur infrequently and only state that one or more of the files outlook.pst, archive.pst or outlook.ost has detected a catalog checkpoint.  There are no errors in the server's application event log.

Other workstations on the LAN don't appear to be effected and the workstion with messages seems other wise normal.  This is a fairly recent situation on a workstion which has been in service for a number of years.  The user had administrative rights on the workststion but no access to the server.

Thanks for any help or guidance as to where to look.

Web ready document viewing in Exchange 2013 disabled?

$

Hi all,

is web ready document viewing disabled because of that bug (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms12-058) in Exchange 2013? Or is there a patch to fix it?

When I try to access an attachment in OWA it says 'The web ready document viewing service has been disabled by the administrator for your organization'...

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I would like to know more. Customers would like to compare exchange 2010 and 2013 and work together with outlook 2010. They interest 3 features.

1. Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

2. Outlook PolicyTips with DLP

3. Information Protection and Control (IPC): transport protection rules, Outlook protection rules, IRM Search

Please compare between

1. Exchange Server 2010 + Outlook 2010

2. Exchange Server 2013 + Outlook 2010

Which features can work, or not?

Thank you

WAC integration still working in Exchange 2013 RTM?

$

Hi all,

I setup an Office Web Apps server and tried to integrate in Exchange 2013 as described in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj150495.aspx. But the Exchange server does not even try to communicate with the Wep Apps server.

Is that issue related to the one that web ready document viewing seemed to be disabled due to bug (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms12-058)?

Many thanks in advance!

Autodiscovery returning wrong server address

Hello every one!

I have recently installed a exchange server 2013 on windows server 2012 for testing purposes.
Everything works fine, i can send and receive mail, use OWA. But the problem is occur when i trying to configure outlook INSIDE organisation, on a pc, which is domain member.
Autodiscover returning wrong server address (something like guid) and wrong e-mail address (simething like :smtp=mail@domain.ru), and setup failing with error "there is no connection toexchange server...".

But, if i will make outlook configuration manualy, it works fine.

When i am trying to acces https://mail.domain.local/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml
i recive this mesage: <ErrorCode>600</ErrorCode>

If it is important i am using self-signed certificate. Can it be a reason?

Remote connectivity analyzer test results are fine, every test passed.
But in result, we can see the same:

Outlook 2003 - Meeting Invitations via Outlook Connector/Translator

$

How do I fix a meeting invitation problem once Outlook Connector (translator) is installed?  What must I do to get the meeting invite to appear in standard Outlook format? This appears to occur anytime someone sends me a meeting invitation via their Exchange Server.  It does not happen if someone sends me a meeting invitation from a non-Exchange Server (hotmail account, gmail account, etc.).  If a meeting request is sent via an Exchange Server, I am able to view it just fine via my hotmail (msn.com) account but it does not translate effectively from my hotmail account to the Outlook app on my desktop.  My email account is configured as a ‘MAPI’ in Outlook.  I have Outlook 2003 installed on my desktop.  It receives and sends emails and meeting invitations via my msn.com account.  However, when someone sends me a meeting invitation from an Exchange server, it comes across looking like the following.  Please provide guidance on how to correct the problem. Thank you!

Hi,

Sorry if I have posted this question in the wrong place or again. I have searched high and low for the answer to this. We recently installed 1 windows 2012 physical server about a month ago and configured it for exchange 2013/Domain Controller/DNS/DHCP and other such roles. We are a technet subscriber so 4 of us also run windows in the domain environment with office 2013/2010. Being an IT support company and prone to playing about one of our administrators has tried to install the following roles, Routing and Remote Access, Network Policy and Access Services and the following features RAS connection manager, Direct Access. All of a sudden only that person can access mail through outlook 2010. We have 5 users. 1 Windows7/Outlook2010, 1 Windows8/Outlook2010 (The only one working) and 3 Windows8/Outlook2013. I have tried to recreate the Virtual Directories but have become confused with IIS and the new Exchange back end sites.

Would appreciate any help and will provide more information if needed.

Thanks in advance

Gary Campbell

Contact Update Problem

$

We have a public contact folder in Outlook 2010 where the “names” of the contacts may need to be changed. For example, the Company name and location remain the same, but the contact "person" (firstname, last name and e-mail address) changes. (See Below) If you open the contact after the name has been changed and select“e-mail this contact” it shows the old contact person’s name, but the new e-mail address. The only way I’ve been able to correct is to delete the entire contact and re-create. Does anyone know if this can be corrected differently?

Old Contact: John Doe (j.doe@anywhere.com)

New Contact: Judy Tree (j.tree@somewhere.com)

What shows up after the update when you open the contact and select “email”:

John Doe (j.tree@somewhere.com)

FYI, I’ve ran the Scanpst.exe, but it didn’t correct the problem.
