Outlook 2010 not seeing all appointments in calendar, but they are seen on OWA with Exchange 2010

I have an Outlook 2010 user that cannot see all of her appointments in her calendar.  Her calendar is shared and other can see them, and she can see them when using OWA and on her iphone.  When in Outlook 2010, if she creates a new appointment, it will let her but she will still not see it, but OWA and her iphone see it.  She has no filters set up and has the offline cache checked.  I am at a loss to why she can't see them in Outlook 2010.  Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Calendar Printing crashing Outlook

User has access to a shared calendar.

When user tries to print shared calendar:

1. Another session of Outlook starts

2. Both sessions of Outlook lock up.

I have had the shared calendar owner reassign permissions to the user and still Outlook crashes when trying to print that shared calendar.

ArchivingAutomatically archive old messages to a personal email archive to reduce inbox clutter, as well as reduce the liabilities associated with email by applying expiration policies.

Unlimited StorageTake advantage of unlimited storage (25 GB of storage in the user's primary mailbox, plus unlimited storage in the user's personal archive).

Questions for helping me decide:

Microsoft exchange Online

In the 4$/month/user:

  • Archive means only move emails from inbox to archive personal folder?
  • Archive personal folder is not back up?
  • Is the inbox stored in this 4$ plan? Where? In the cloud?
  • How many emails accounts can manage ONE user?

  • I am owner of a TWO-man company. I manage 3 different emails addresses (info@domain, sales@domain, lastname@domain) and my employee manage one email address “employee@domain”, but also want him to access the “info@domain” address. How many USERS I have to pay? I am not sure if USER = email addresses or USER = physical person.
  • I have 6 devices. I manage one laptop, one desktop, one Ipad and my blackberry. My employee manages one laptop and blackberry phone. Can I login as USER in my laptop and desktop at same time? Or should I log off from one device to get access to the other device?
  • Can my employee access to the common email address “info@domain” even that address was registered under my USER account? I need he and myself to get access to that email address.

  • How can I migrate my current email from my Outlook desktop to the solution your are selling. DO I need help from my current hosting? What info I need to ask them in advance?
  • Who is helping during installation? Do I receive support?

In the 8$/month/user:

  • Is archive personal back up?

Microsoft  Office 365

  • We already have Microsoft Outlook installed in computer and office applications. Do I need Office 365? Why?
  • I tried to sign on Office 365 and I saw asking for a new domain @onmicrosoft.com…..Why? I want to keep my own domain for my emails.

autodiscover icw old and new domain transition

We have a working exchange 2007 infrastructure with the domain name 13thdivision.nl. About 50 clients with mobile phones are connected.

Due to complications we cannot do anything with the old domain and a compleet new domain has been created.
The internalname of the new domain is 13th.local and the outsite domain is 13thdivision.nl.  This new domain is  build up with exchange 2013.

Now how can we set the autodiscover.13thdivision.nl to the new exchange 2013 domain without getting issues from the allready connected clients on the old domain. They will connect to the autodiscover on the wrong set of servers.

In a normal situation the new domain and servers would proxy clients to the old domain but do to complications the new domain cant communicate with the old domain. ( or is this where federation comes in ? )

Emails flagged (different colors) in shared mailbox in Outlook 2010 not visible to Outlook 2003 users

We are a group of users accessing a shared mailbox. The supervisor has been migrated to Outlook 2010 and the rest of the group is still using Outlook 2003.

  • When the supervisor flags a color of an email in the shared mailbox, the users running 2003 are unable to see the change.

  • The supervisor (running 2010) can see changes that are flagged by the 2003 users.

Error when trying to set up Outlook with new Exchange 2013 installation

0

Hello all,

I dived into the world of Exchange 2013 tonight in my test network, "upgrading" (not really!) from Exchange 2010.  I set up a brand new Hyper-V VM with the host OS being Server 2012, the guest OS being Server 2008 R2 SP1. I did all Windows Updates, all prerequisite software installs, etc.  I uninstalled Exchange 2010 from the machine it was on without issue and Exchange 2013 Setup went through without issue.  The VM has a healthy 16GB of memory to work with (only setting up two mailboxes on this test box), plenty of disk space, etc.  I am able to use OWA with no problems with both mailboxes.  In OWA, I can send/receive e-mail all day long just fine.

However, when configuring Outlook 2013 RTM to work with the new server, I get the following message after manually configuring the server settings:

Outlook cannot log on.  Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name.  The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable.  Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.

My replies to the above message:  "OK." "I am." "OK." "It is, or so I thought."

This process repeats itself on each machine I try and with Outlook 2010 as well. Rather than using the hostname, I've also tried using the IP address to no avail.  I've tried every variation I can think of for the mailbox name for both mailboxes but this also does nothing.

Connectivity is good from each machine I try to the Exchange server; I am able to ping it with no issues and can access a test shared folder I set up on it.  I also verified all Exchange services are up and running OK.  I've rebooted the VM as well.

At this point, and after having worked on this whole thing from the first mouse click to uninstall Exchange 2010 to now (about four and a half hours), I'm at a loss (and tired).

Any help is appreciated.

Outlook Meeting Request Shows Wrong Organizer

0
0
We have a user that tries to request meetings with Outlook 2010. When the
meeting request is sent to a users blackberry device it shows the organizer as
someone from outside the company, lets call that person "Mr. X". When I saw the
organizer come through as "Mr. X" instead of the original organizer I ran a
search on the users inbox and found that the user has conversations from a
couple months ago with "Mr. X". When the user makes a meeting request to any
other mail domain like "@gmail.com" or "@firstcoast.com" it shows the correct
meeting organizer, it is only when the meeting request is sent to a blackberry
account that it shows the organizer as "Mr. X".

We are running exchange
2010 and I have gone through the settings on the server and the users outlook
multiple times and cant seem to find any misconfigurations. I have also gone
through and deleted any recurring meetings that the user had with "Mr. X" in the
past.

I have seemed to stump google with this problem, and I am not sure
what to try next. If anyone has seen this before or has any ideas I would be
grateful and willing to try them. Thank you all for your time.

Outlook 2013 and Hotmail error on sending.

As the title suggests : Outlook 2013 and Hotmail error on sending.

I have set up my profile quite happily and the wizard completes successfully. Outlook downloads my folder structures and emails. However, I cannot get past the send and recieve error:

"sending  reported error (0x8004010F): 'The operation failed. An object cannot be found'"

Most articles seem to refer to older versions of OUtlook and the address book. However, as this is a hotmail account the only addresses stored are in my contacts, so this is not the same thing.

I have tried Outlook in safe mode the issue still remains.

I have disabled my avast  virus scan for emails being sent, and also tried disabling the entire mail filter  the issue still remains.

I have disabled all add-ins in Outlook  the issue still remains.

I have also recreated profles, and tried Exchange ActiveSync with the server: m.hotmail.com and the more simple method Auto account set up  the issue still remains.

I am disappointed, I was happily on Outlook 2007 with the connector. Since that changed I have tried to find a sensible way to use hotmail, and eventually opted for office prof 2013, which has just added to my woes. I fail to understand how MS can take a strategy that causes the uses of two major products so much trouble.

I also reinstalled Win7 recently and have been through all the auto updates and am on SP1.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

Mark

Exchange Server 2010 / Outlook 2010 Questions

I have exchange 2010 SP1 Roullup 4  - Here is the version reported in my Exchange Management Console - Version 14.1 (Build 218.15).

Outlook clients are 2007 and 2010 running on Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 SP1

Here are two issues i need help with

I have Google Postini handling my SPAM control and mail filtering and DO NOT, for any reason want to use Exchange internal message filtering mechanism!... So i setup the following:

Disable Junk Mail control in my outlook clients - is there a way to permanently remove Junk mail folder in Outlook Client?. I find a way to do this in exchange for OWA client

Setup SCL to 0 and -1 on my HUB Transport, so that my HT will consider all email passing through not to be SPAM

But I am still looking for an absolute solution or a way to confirm Exchange will not deliver any email coming into my organisation to users Junk mail folder in Outlook or permanently remove Junk Mail folder in Outlook client.

Second issue

Some of my Outlook client users (Outlook 2010) have their OST file grows between three to five times the size of their actual mailbox size on exchange when they are set to cache mode (either with download share folder option selected or not).

I understand the OST may probably be bigger than actual mailbox size but having the size between 3 to 5 times bigger than the actual mailbox size on the exchange server does not sounds right!

Here is  example: User A have Exchange Mailbox size = 4GB, but when in cache mode, outlook OST file size is 22GB

Multiple Exchange accounts in Outlook 2010 and password popups

I recently added a seconds Exchange account to my Outlook 2010 profile, and now I get two password popups, one for each account, when I start Outlook.  Neither account has the "Always prompt for logon credentials" checked in account settings, and I always check "Remember my credentials" on the popups.  Is there a way to stop the popups?

Reminders Regenerating

We are having an issue with one user (Outlook 2010, Exchange 2010) were a reminder(s) keeps regenerating at the same time on the same day. The uers's mailbox (celendar) is getting full and I can't seem to stop it. Disconnected the mailbox, let maintenance run, reconnected, etc. Nothing works... Can anyone help? Also tried 'cleanreminders' to no avail... been using Exchange for over a decade and I have never seen anything like this? Help.... thanks!

How do I search the GAL by street address or zip code?

I can go into advanced find and search by city, office, company, etc. But there are no options for address, zip code or state?

Exchange 2010 + Outlook: AutoArchive settings

I want to have a single mailbox setup to automatically delete mail older than 60 days. I used Outlook on my machine to log into the mailbox and setup AutoArchive to run and take the desired action. I wonder though, if that setting lives in the MAPI profile, or in the mailbox. Thanks.

Anyone else getting Unknown Error 80040600?

I have not been able to get my incoming mail in Outlook 2010.  I'm getting Unknown Error 80040600.  I've seen instructions for how to fix this in Outlook 2007 but none so far with 2010 version.   Apparently my Outlook.pst folder in on an Exchange server but I don't know how to access it, and fix.  Any help appreciated.

Exchange 2013 cached Mode

Hello,

I have following issue.

Exchange 2013 on a windows 2012.

Outlook 2010 client has cached mode disabled on a windows 7 sp1 or windows xp sp3 or terminal server windows 2008r2.

Some users retrieve also e-mail from a pop3 mail-account into their exchange mailbox.

All e-mail that isn retrieved comes in the mailbox but not as a new message but as a sort of draft. When you click on the message it opens and you see the message as it was a message ready to sent to 'yourself' and all other people in 'To' and 'CC' field.
